Mushroom Green Bean Casserole

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. Cremini mushrooms (Baby Portobello), sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp. steak sauce
  • 1.5 lbs. fresh green beans
  • 1.5 tbsp. flour
  • 3 tbsp. butter
  • ¼ tsp. celery seed
  • ¼ tsp. onion powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1.5 cup milk or half and half
  • 1 small can French’s Fried Onions

Steps

  1. Cut beans in 2 inch pieces.
  2. Boil or steams beans till al dente. Drain and let cool.
  3. Melt 2 tbsp. butter on med high in skillet.
  4. Add mushrooms and steak sauce. Stir and sauté till brown.
  5. Turn down heat to low. Add flour to mushrooms to coat. Add 3 tbsp. butter, celery seed, onion powder, and salt and pepper.
  6. Stir to melt butter, add milk and simmer till thickened.
  7. Mix with beans and spread in 9” x12” buttered baking pan.
  8. Sprinkle French fried onions over the top.
  9. Bake uncovered in 350 deg. oven for 30 min.
