Ingredients
Filling
- 1 tbsp. butter
- 6-8 peaches
- 2 tbsp. flour
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ to ½ cup raw or white sugar (depending on sweetness of peaches)
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
Streusel Topping
- 3/4 cup unbleached flour
- 1/4 cup granola or cereal
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/3 cup chilled butter, cut in pieces
- Handful chopped nuts
Steps
- Preheat oven to 375 deg. Butter a glass baking dish or casserole dish.
- Halve, peel, pit & slice peaches into med size bowl. Add rest of filling ingredients & mix.
- Place all streusel ingredients in small bowl except butter and nuts. 4. Using a pastry blender or two knives criss-crossing repeatedly, cut butter into rest of ingredients until the size of peas.
- Put all filling into a buttered casserole dish or glass baking pan so that the filling is not too thick, it’s that streusel topping we all want more of.
- Top with streusel and spread out to the edges using a fork. Sprinkle on nuts.
- Bake for 30-40 min til topping is brown & bubbling.
- Serve warm or at room temp with whipped cream or ice cream, especially butter pecan ice cream. 😀
