- 2 tbsp. butter
- 2 tbsp. flour
- 2 cups white stock (chicken or veggie)
- Melt butter in small saucepan.
- Sprinkle flour over the butter and stir to make a paste.
- Cook for couple minutes without browning.
- Remove from heat & cool slightly.
- Slowly add warm stock to the pan & stir to blend till smooth.
- Add herbs, spices, & cheeses to this base for any white sauce.
**Tip: this sauce is more used as a base for other ingredients to be added depending on the recipe.
