Ingredients
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 2 tbsp. minced onion or shallot
- 2 tbsp. flour
- 2 cups milk
- salt & pepper
- dash of nutmeg
- Bouquet garni
Steps
- Melt butter in small saucepan.
- Sauté onions till soft & translucent.
- Sprinkle flour over mix and stir in.
- Cook for a couple minutes more.
- Remove from heat.
- Slowly add milk while stirring to get smooth texture.
- Add herbs & spices & bring to a simmer & cook till thickened.
- Strain and serve over any meat or fish.
Serves: 6-8
