Apple Gourmet Chunky Applesauce

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp. golden raisins
  • 1 tbsp. brandy
  • 3 apples, like Macintosh, Pink Lady or Golden Delicious, peeled & chopped
  • 2 tbsp. raw sugar
  • 1 tbsp. brown sugar
  • ΒΌ cup apple juice
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. butter
  • dash of salt
  • 12 pecan halves, toasted & chopped

Steps

  1. Soak raisins in brandy.
  2. Meanwhile, in large saucepan, bring to a boil rest of ingredients except butter & pecans
  3. Reduce heat to med. low, cover & cook 20 -25 min. till apples very soft, stirring occasionally.
  4. Increase heat to med. Add butter & cook uncovered for 6 min. to brown apples a little.
  5. Add pecans and raisins with brandy. Cook 1 more min.
  6. Serve warm or cool and chill. Keep in refrigerator.

**Tip: To toast pecans, lay on cookie sheet and bake in 375 deg. oven for 5 min. till darker in color.
